Note for diaries
AMDIN takes pleasure in announcing the new dates for its 2009 Heads of Institutions Forum; its 2
nd
Knowledge Exchange Conference, as well as the associated Biennial General Meeting.
The dates are as follows:
2009 AMDIN Heads of Institutions Forum:
Monday, 9 and Tuesday 10 November, 2009
Theme: Nurturing African MDIs to achieve Excellence
2
nd
AMDIN Knowledge Exchange Conference:
Wednesday, 11 and Thursday 12 November, 2009
Theme: Evaluating performance gaps in African Public Administration Institutions
Biennial General Meeting of AMDIN Member Institutions:
Late afternoon, Wednesday, 11 November, 2009.
The venue is currently being finalized, but is highly likely to be in Johannesburg, South Africa. Please indicate your interest in any of these events to and/or monitor the AMDIN web page for updates on the conference as it becomes available (www.amdin.net).
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the rescheduling. The change of dates became necessary after the AAPAM conference dates moved from November to late September, one week apart from the initial dates for the AMDIN conference. AAPAM was also necessitated to secure a new conference venue under great pressure, after South Africa, the intended host, announced in May 2009, it will no longer be available for hosting the 2009 AAPAM conference. Kenya, specifically the Kenya Institute for Administration (KIA) stepped into the breach, which voided exploratory discussions AMDIN had with the same institution to host our events.
